Gravel Ride - Lanark Highlands

The route leaves Lanark Village on scenic, smooth gravel roads before it connects with Lodore Rd. This begins 27km of rolling, heavily forested, single-lane roads in the backcountry of the Lanark Highlands, including Ranger Camp Rd and Lavant Mill Road. The route returns to civilization, and some pavement at the west end of Dalhousie Lake before hitting Dalhousie Concession 12, for its 3 short steep climbs in open fields that seem to lead you into the sky (which be by passed if desired). At 46.5km, the route passes Wheelers Maple Products wheelersmaple.com which is a great place to stop a rest, washrooms, food, and fluids. The route gets easier here, with a longer section of pavement and a scenic ride on Sheridan Rapids Rd, and a nice gravel section for the final return to Lanark Village.
