Sunday Ride 25-09-07 - Andrew Haydon Park
LAST TOUR OF THE SEASON : Sept 20/21
An overnight in the happenin' town of Renfrew!
That's on the Saturday night after having ridden ~100 or 125km, via Almonte and Calabogie, or Arnprior, from the Kanata meet point. The longer route follows the same route we took to Calabogie on the "Tornado Express" tour (That was an adventure!) that followed on the heels of the tornadoes in 2018, or whenever that was, with an extension to Renfrew.
A 2 x queen bed room is about $150 (tax incl) so find some friends or sign up as a single seeking roommates.
Info and reg'n : https://ottawabicycleclub.ca/tours/
It ought to be a terrific out & back tour (maybe take two different routes?) through lovely country with great riding companions.
Sign up quickly; the rooms are being held at the negotiated rate until Sept 5th.

The next time we're riding these parts, it ought to be with colourful leaves; but for now : green.

Sorry, registration closed.
Available Rides
A (133 km, 800 m elevation gain)
Arnprior!
A few comfort stops have been placed on the map, though none in Arnprior. Have a look at the map yourselves and spot some likely places.
At km48, you may wish to turn right for a more direct approach to Arnprior.
You may encounter a Sunday Market in Arnprior.
B (97 km, 576 m elevation gain)
A respite from the big hills this week, and with a view ahead to the colours that ought to be in this area when we next return, you are headed to the Bay Cafe in Constance Bay for coffee. Sure, there are coffee shops closer to your home; you might even have your own coffee machine. But, you also have a bike that needs exercise!
The Bay cafe is on the initial downhill into Constance Bay, on the left. Check the map.
C (80 km, 508 m elevation gain)
Follow the B riders to Constance Bay for a refreshment at the Bay Cafe. Then, turn right around an head to Carp then via Kanata to return to Andrew Haydon.
Imagine the next ride out this way with the leaves having turned.
D (63 km, 349 m elevation gain)
Some new roads; slightly experimental. All paved but... what's the quality of the pavement on the farthest roads? Streetview indicates passable. But... it is countryside so hopefully the scenery makes up for less than pristine rolling.
Start out on Corkstown Rd to Moodie then follow the bike path to March Rd. All roads from then on. Refreshmenst in Carp?
