Available Rides
A (142 km, 625 m elevation gain)
A long ride through Plantagenet out to Alfred, then looping south around through the Larose Forest to Bourget then return.
Check the map for rest stop options in Plantagenet, Alfred, Bourget, at a minimum.
B (102 km, 528 m elevation gain)
Tea, or gelato, or ??? by the river in Plantagenet awaits. Note that, at km 37, you can turn right and procceed about 1km to the Tim Horton's. There is also a grocery store in Bourget on the way back. Possibly a portapotty-in-the-park in Hammond at km 79.2.
C (76 km, 377 m elevation gain)
Well, this is a mix of great pavement, quiet scenic roads through the forest and a little that is unknown. All is the service of getting you to the coffee stop in Sarsfield @ Midori Market -- they serve food and drink -- at about km 38. Not much in the way of alternative places to stop. Just lots of trees, if needed.
The long ride south on Frank Kenny Rd is on a wide shoulder, recently paved. A great place to get the group clicking. that's followed by a ride east along Devine that is quiet and pleasant. Birchgrove Rd is of unknown quality; Streetview shows it in need of some cosmetic touches. Do let me know if you encounter truly ugly pavement. You ought not encounter any construction that blocks your way, but you can expect to cross a road of two that are being resurfaced.
D (56 km, 295 m elevation gain)
An existing route with a new coffee stop.
Head east on scenic Wilhaven/ Baseline to the always-thrilling downhill that launches you towards Clarence Creek. Then, head south then west to Sarsfield and a coffee stop at Midori Market at about km 43.x. A short haul along Frank Kenny Rd/ Trim Rd brings you home.
