Sunday Ride 25-10-26 - Nepean Sportsplex

Sunday, October 26, 2025
10:00 AM

The forecast isn't terrific for the next, last(?) couple of weeks, so we might want to consider indoor mini-golf. But, in the hopes that something worthwhile appears in the sky (e.g the Sun), here are some rides departing from the Sportsplex, which is accessible to more Sunday riders than the Orleans launch site which would be the expected site for the day.

Sunday Ride

Please note that you must be a current OBC member to participate in any events.

Description : Road Ride

Start Location : Nepean Sportsplex

Note: due to cold overnight temperatures forecast, the start time has been changed to10:00AM. Note that any remaining rides this season will also start at 10:00AM.

Start Time : 10:00 AM Departure - gather 9:30 -- 9:45

We'll keep the rides going at long as people show up and the weather is decent, or the weather is decent and people continue to show up!

Familiar routes from the Sportsplex to the W & SW.

*Group composition will depend on having a Ride Leader, and interest for specific Distance/Speed combinations, as determined by who shows up at the start point

Please contact the organizer if you have questions.

Note there is nothing but shrubbery between Kars (km 26) and Richmond (km 63). You may find pit toilets at the provincial park, though it is closed for the season (km 38.5).

D (59 km, 316 m elevation gain)

Head south to Strandherd to cross the river -- LEADER: if, immediately after crossing the bridge, River Rd southbound is re-opened, feel free to take it -- then cross, again, into Manotick. Don't even think it's time for coffee! Carry on through Hamburger Heights to get to First Line, then Century Rd to get to Richmond. I'm going to lead you to Tim's, but there is also the Village Bakeshop and CC's Corner. See the map.

From Richmond, head east on Barnsdale and Borrisokane but, turn off on an earlier street to avoid construction on Cambrian Rd. Then it's a turn here, a turn there over to Longfields Dr and the usual route back to the barn.
