Description : Road Ride

Start Location : Andrew Haydon Park

Start Time : 9:00 AM Departure - gather 8:30 -- 8:45

The colours remain on the trees, and the temperatures continue mild... let's get out there! This time on the west side where various riders will visit Carp, Pakenham, Almonte, Stittsville; even exciting Kanata!

Bonne route!

*Group composition will depend on having a Ride Leader, and interest for specific Distance/Speed combinations, as determined by who shows up at the start point.

Please contact the organizer if you have questions.

Available rides

A (136 km, 771 m elevation gain)

A wide, counter-clockwise loop to Pakenham (where the 5-arches bridge may or may not be open to cross - it's tough to get an answer to that), then down through Almonte to Ashton before turning east for the return.

There is an obvious place to trim about 10km if desired, when you reach Kinburn Side Rd on Stonecrest. Also, you may wish to stay on the roads -- Baseline, Richmond, Holly Acres, rather than moving onto the paths when you arrive at Baseline on Cedarview.

The obvious spot for a break is Almonte.

Registration details are no longer available for this event.

B (102 km, 592 m elevation gain)

A regular loop, but CCW. Through Carp out to Blakeney; south to Almonte and Ashton, East to Kanata and a return via Hunt Club and Cedarview. The usual pause is in Almonte at Equator Coffee, but feel free to find your own stop.

Registration details are no longer available for this event.

C (77 km, 341 m elevation gain)

A CCW loop with some up, an exciting down on Thomas Dolan and some scenery, hopefully of the colour variety.

The usual stop is in Carp at the coffee-ery of your choice.

D (64 km, 392 m elevation gain)

You'll be following the C group for the first half, with a gentle uphill for a few kms before losing it all in an exciting downhill! Where the C's turn north off of Thomas Dolan, you'll start the climb over the Carp ridge. As you will arrive in Carp before them, you're bound to find coffee still available. Carp is your rest stop, unless you decide that Kanata North is more appealing.

Note that I have adjusted the route to use Carp Road after crossing the ridge, which shortens the route to 61km.
