Available rides

A (136 km, 470 m elevation gain)

A new route over mostly familiar roads. You might encounter about 2km of dodgy pavement at km 54.5. Nixon Dr (km 22.3) might be busy.

Food in Osgoode. Turcotte's General Store (I phoned to see if they were open on Sunday and they told me to check Google!) at km 47.8 might have food. Or not. Their FB page has a photo of a menu. Winchester will have food, unless there is a donut shortage at Timmy's. Metcalfe has The Stable on the way out of town.

Registration details are no longer available for this event.

B (94 km, 536 m elevation gain)

Find some new pavement on Rideau Road on the way to a few km of Osgoode Link rail trail. Good for all tires. If you must have pavement, then continue on Gough Rd past the turn onto the rail trail to Manotick Station Rd and turn right. Turn right again on Snake Island Rd to return to the route. Stop at the Kars Ultramar for a break, if you like, but note that it is off piste. Richmond is another option.

In Richmond, note the change of routing which I think makes the jog from McBean over to Huntley Rd a little safer. If you want to stop at Tim Horton's or another cafe, you'll need to figure out the best approach.

Ride leaders: reminder that you will need to be vigilant for left turns, coach your groups and note the failsafe option for each:

  1. from Woodroffe onto Strandherd (km 6.4);

  2. from River Rd onto Rideau Rd (km 10.5);

  3. from Fernbank onto Eagleson onto Bridgestone (km 80.7);

  4. from Hunt Club and Woodroffe back into the Sportsplex (km 93).

C (78 km, 459 m elevation gain)

Find some new pavement on Rideau Road on a no-purpose-but-adding-3 km detour almost to Gough Rd before returning to River Rd. Stop at the Kars Ultramar for a break, if you like, but note that it is off piste. yoiu may prefer stopping in Richmond. Your choice.

In Richmond, note the change of routing which I think makes the jog from McBean over to Huntley Rd a little safer. If you want to stop at Tim Horton's or another cafe, you'll need to figure out the best approach.

A loop through the outskirts of Manotick, then on to Richmond and Stittsville. In Richmond, note the change of routing which I think makes the jog from McBean over to Huntley Rd a little safer. If you want to stop at Tim Horton's or another cafe, you'll need to figure out the best approach.
